The Knudsen Pinger is an all‑in‑one shallow‑water sub‑bottom profiler and single‑beam echosounder built around the proven Knudsen Chirp 3200 platform. This rack‑mounted dual‑frequency system is operated through Knudsen’s SounderSuite software, giving users high‑quality sub‑bottom data through a familiar and easy‑to‑use interface—no geophysical background required. Heave‑compensated records are available on both the 200 kHz echosounder channel and the 15 kHz or 3.5 kHz chirped SBP array, delivering consistently impressive data quality.

Designed for simple over‑the‑side pole‑mount deployment, the Pinger performs in water depths from as shallow as 4 m to around 300 m in ideal conditions. The wet end includes two interchangeable projectors—a low‑frequency 3.5 kHz unit for hard sand and a 15 kHz unit for soft mud—along with a broadband hydrophone receive array and a 200 kHz reference transducer. This flexible configuration makes the Pinger well‑suited for simultaneous sub‑bottom profiling and single‑beam echo sounding, dredge support, inland waterway surveys, geophysical sediment studies, harbour and shoreline construction work, and environmental or pond‑monitoring applications.

  • 15 kHz or 3.5 kHz sub bottom transmit arrays.
  • 200kHz echo sounding correlation (Chirp) processing.
  • Heave compensated records.
  • SEG Y data recording
  • A rack mounted dual frequency unit that is controlled by proprietary SounderSuite software allowing high quality sub bottom data acquisition via a familiar user interface.
