GoSubsea offers the Kongsberg EM® 2040P MkII, the market’s first 3‑sector broadband multibeam echo sounder and a leading solution for high‑resolution shallow‑water mapping and inspection. With an operating range from 200 to 700 kHz, the system allows operators to select the optimal frequency for the task—200 kHz for deeper waters, 300 kHz for near‑bottom work, and 400–700 kHz for ultra‑high‑resolution inspection.
The EM 2040P MkII can alternate between frequency modes on a ping‑by‑ping basis, enabling multi‑frequency backscatter of up to five frequencies in a single pass. This same capability allows seamless switching between full‑swath coverage and high‑resolution target mode, ensuring wide‑area mapping while maintaining exceptional detail over specific features.
With a large operating bandwidth and an output sample rate up to 60 kHz, the system supports very short pulse lengths—down to 14 microseconds, providing a raw range resolution of 10.5 mm. The 200 and 300 kHz modes offer angular coverage up to 170°, delivering swath widths of up to 7.5 times water depth on flat seabeds.
Compact, powerful, and highly flexible, the EM® 2040P MkII is ideal for coastal mapping, infrastructure inspection, dredging support, and inland waterway surveys where precision and data clarity are essential.
